Classes provide high intensity interval training with attention to technical skill and strength building, never without an element of fun.

Rose City Rec Room is a community that centers around movement, strength, and creativity. Healthy living is so much more than lifting heavy objects and elevating your heart rate. Here at RCRR we focus on strength, power, mobility, fun, and building your appreciation and connection to Portland’s creative community. This is wellness for the body, mind, and soul.

ABOUT COACH SHAWN

Shawn grew up in NorCal, bounced around the country a bit and recently moved from Philly to Portland.  Body awareness has been a big part of Shawn’s life for over 20 years. It developed over a 16-year career as a massage therapist and continued with a dance minor while receiving his BA in Theatre. When Shawn was introduced to HIIT workouts, he fell in love with the playful competitiveness of group workouts, community building and the transformation it had on all aspects of his life.

It is not uncommon to see Shawn dancing along with the music as he coaches class, he might even try to get you to join in. He believes classes should always be fun, intense, and sweaty.  When he’s not working on his own fitness or pushing others on theirs, he can be found enjoying the arts, spending time with his 3 rambunctious pets, or frequenting a local restaurant or bar.
